A few days ago, our team planned for a trek to Kareri lake. We normally work on monitoring pollution levels. So we decided to map the pollution levels throughout the entire trip.
We built a device which has a PM sensor, Data logging and a GPS module to geo-tag the data. The device was carried by our Intern, Saran throughout the trek. It was mounted in his bag using a carabiner. The device was powered using a power bank which was sufficient for the entire
journey.
We processed the data after returning from the trek & it was as expected. The PM levels were averagely around 30 ug/m^3. It was low in the places when we rest. The higher levels were just because of the dust generated from our boots.
